HTC One M8 users will not be enjoying the sweetness of the latest operating system from Google at the moment. The rollout of the Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Google Play Editions of HTC One M8 and M7 has been delayed and the company has not mentioned the alternate date for its release.

As per Gospel Herald, HTC Vice President of Product Management Mo Versi initially announced on his Twitter account the upcoming release of Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it was also there that Versi announced the postponement.

According to reports, the setback came from the issues the company encountered along the way. Those issues were not given much light though. However, Android Origin reported that the problem was fixed by HTC and the company sent the code back to Google. At the moment, it is waiting for Google's go signal so they can continue with the rollout.

JBG News added that the bugs present in the Android 5.0 Lollipop have also contributed to the holdup. Nexus users were the first to receive the update and most of them reported issues on Wi-Fi connectivity, saying that it either fluctuates or, worse, has been inaccessible from the time they had the operating system onboard their devices. In addition, there is the constant lagging and freezing that irks users who installed the update. With these huge issues still existing and unaddressed, media outlets are one in saying that HTC wants to ensure that Lollipop is spick and span and bug-free before it rolls it out to its devices.

Tech Times says that the standard versions of the existing devices mentioned above will get the update despite the delay for the GPEs of the smartphones. Android Origin, taking note of the 90-day promise, believes that HTC will rollout Lollipop by Feb. 1 next year.

Recently, screenshots of an HTC One running the Android 5.0 Lollipop were posted by LlabTooFeR. As Tech Times noted, HTC does not plan to adopt all of the Material Design brought by the Lollipoop update and will instead have it fused with the Sense UI.
