Android Lollipop continues to roll out but it has not taken over all Android devices just yet. All the same, owners of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in France will be happy to know that the 5.0.2 version of the operating system is on its way.

The update is done over the air, which means users should be receiving notifications and installation prompts on their Wi-Fi model tablet. If not, users need not fret. The update is being rolled out in phases but it should not take long to get to other regions of the world.

Furthermore, one can always check the phone update manually by going to Menu > Settings > About device > Software update. They can also opt to install the Lollipop update from Samsung's Kies software utility.

Users can also flash Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to their 10.5-inch tablets but it is advised that this method be used by those who have flashed their Android operating systems before. Here is where to get it.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 that bears the model number SM-T800 is the one eligible for update. The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop build is dated March 17, 2015, and once up and running, the firmware will be set to T800XXU1BOCC.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 was released back in summer last year and it had Android 4.4.2 KitKat straight out of the box. The rollout will serve as the device's major jump to Lollipop.

The said tablet has 3 GB of RAM along with 16 and 32 GB expandable storage options. It packs a 7900 mAh battery, which should be enough to support its 8-megapixel rear-facing shooter and its 2.1-megapixel selfie snapper.

At the moment, the update is exclusive to France. While there is now word about its arrival to the rest of the world, it looks like Samsung is already working on that so the update should be here in no time.
