Some amiibo figures, reputed by fans as rare and hard to find, are now restocked by Nintendo. As of this writing, new stocks of figurines for Wii Fit Trainer, Wario, Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, Dark Pit, Palutena, and Ganondorf are now for the taking from the Nintendo Store.
It is rather impressive that Nintendo hasn't ran out of supplies. Either it has shipped in a lot of the plastic toys or fans have yet to discover that the toys-to-life versions of one-of-a-kind characters are there, waiting to be ordered.
Notably, it won't be long before the "Buy Now" button will be greyed out with the words "Sold Out" in it. This is what easily happened to the sought-after Sonic the Hedgehog and Zelda statuettes, with every piece leaving the Nintendo's warehouse after a short time.
Among the members of the Super Mario gang, the Yoshi amiibo and the Luigi amiibo are still up for grabs. Unfortunately, it would be too late to find a plastic figurine of Mario, Toad, Bowser and his varying versions, as well as Bowser Jr. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Villager also returned to the shelves but he didn't stay there very long, unfortunately.
Each character on offer is limited to one per customer, so Nintendo can make sure that more fans and collectors will be able to secure their favorite or needed amiibo for themselves as well as to put a stop to bulk buying, which results to some selling them for higher prices.
In an interview with Forbes, Nintendo of America president and chief operating officer Reggie Fils-Aime revealed that the amiibo business will not slow down despite the complained shortage in supply, knowing its relatively bigger success in the country and its gracious reception in other regions.
"Through the end of March, we've announced that Nintendo globally sold about 10.5 million Amiibo. Fully two thirds of that are coming out of the Americas, so we are the lion share of that business. And we're going to continue to drive it," Fils-Aime stated. "I can share with you that when we just launched this most recent wave, over roughly a 30-day timeframe, just in the United States, we sold a million Amiibo. And so the momentum we have with our Amiibo business is very strong."
