Alleged restock of Marth amiibo pops up on Amazon

Marth amiibo Amazon

The most wanted Marth amiibo, which, at the moment, is the most prized must-have for collectors, is still vastly hard to pin down. Due to the overwhelming demand for restocks of the figurine, Nintendo bought some time to produce more and the company promised to deliver this month.

However, Nintendo did not firm up a specific date as to when the Marth amiibo will actually be made available again, making fans more cutthroat than ever in scoring one. But interestingly, while on the lookout, fans spotted the coveted statuette on Amazon, which sporadically toggles on and off the option for ordering.

This has led buyers to believe that Amazon is only opening its door for buyers whenever stocks of Marth figures from Nintendo arrive at its doorstep. Others think that this is the website's way to help adamant customers snag the in-demand "Super Smash Bros" nugget for themselves, allowing more to actually own one.

But apart from the mystery of Amazon's flash and elusive sales of the Marth amiibo, gamers are intrigued as to why (if this is Nintendo fulfilling its promise to restock) there were no warnings or announcements about the arrival of supplementary figures inspired by the gallant "Fire Emblem" character.

The company says that once Marth is back on the shelves, it will inform fans "through Nintendo press announcements, timely updates on our social media channels and working closely with retailers."

So for now, the best thing for fans who are ardently hunting for the rare figure is to keep their eyes peeled as Marth might really be on the way. It is heavily rumored that the Marth amiibo restock will be executed the same date the amiibo Wave 4 comes out, which is on May 29. If this is to happen, this leaves the Amazon posting of the figurine a bit of a mystery.

On the other hand, it looks like the amiibo shortage nightmare won't be gone anytime soon. Reddit users have recently mined information on the allocation information of amiibo figures on Target detailing how many units will likely arrive on the online retailer's storefront.

While it revealed that Jigglypuff won't be hard to acquire, the information also confirmed that Marth will still be difficult to get. The character has the lowest stash among the bunch, only amounting to 4,016, which is to be shared by all Target stores (all 1,795 of them), leaving them with only 0.6 cases to sell.
