The rumor mill is working double time with Alcatel's alleged upcoming smartphones. For the past couple of days, the Idol 4 has been creating such a big buzz on the Internet. It started with a rendered image of a bigger variant, then a GFXBench result surfaced, and now, it is said that there will also be a smaller version.

The Idol 4 was unveiled at this year's Mobile World Congress, although it is not yet available in the market. The phone is said to have a 5.2-inch inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel display resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 617 and comes preloaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It has a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front-facing one.

After MWC 2016, it was rumored that there will be an Idol 4 Pro variant that will come with a Windows 10 Mobile operating system. MSPoweruser said that the Windows 10 phone will have a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 820 chip with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It will also come with a 21MP rear camera while an 8MP will be put on the front. It is also rumored to be packing a 3,000 mAh batter and will be Windows 10 Continuum-ready.

Tipster Evan Blass posted a rendered image of the said phone last March 17.

Next came the GFXBench result that surfaced for the Alcatel Idol 4 Pro. However, there is a slight difference in specs here. The result showed that the rumored Idol 4 Pro has a 6-inch screen, 2GB RAM, a 20MP main camera and a 9MP front shooter .

There are contradictory reports about Alcatel's Windows 10 Mobile smartphone name. Some call it Idol 4 Pro while others use Idol 4S with Windows 10.

Now, it is also being reported that an Alcatel Idol 4 Mini exists. Venture Beat said that the Mini model will be an Android phone with a 5.2-inch 720p resolution display screen and speculated to come with a Mediatek quad-core MT6738 or octa-core MT6750. It is also speculated to be coming with several sizes of RAM (1GB, 2GB and 3GB), as well as several internal storage capacity options (8GB, 16GB and 32GB).

The cameras are rumored to be at 13MP for the main and 5MP for the secondary. It is also said to have a battery capacity of 2,400 mAh and a fingerprint scanner on its home button.

Alcatel has not confirmed any of these specifications. The first Idol 4 is expected to be available by the second quarter of the year.
