The Brown family of the Discovery Channel reality television show, "Alaskan Bush People," is currently having a very difficult time with the family's matriarch, Ami Brown, battling stage 3 lung cancer. This prompted concerned fans and audiences of the show to wonder about Ami's status for the filming of season 8. However, it has been revealed that "Alaskan Bush People" has already started filming, and Ami will still be part of the next season.

In a report by Inquisitr, it was revealed recently on the Facebook page titled "Alaskan Bush People Exposed" that fans will still get to see Ami for season 8. The update stated that the Brown family, except Bam, is currently residing in Colorado to give Ami some time to recover before she receives her second round of treatment. Ami is set to return to Los Angeles soon to continue her chemotherapy.

This means that fans can expect the early episodes of season 8 to involve the trip that the family has made to Colorado, and how they have been coping with the difficulties of Ami's health situation. The said page has been a reliable source of information for fans regarding key information about the show, and there is no reason to doubt its contents now.

Some reports have stated that Brown has stage 3 cancer. However, according to In Touch Weekly, Ami is currently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which was found during the early months of 2017. Even before she was found to have cancer, Ami had previously been experiencing pain on her neck and shoulders due to past injuries and accrued body stress from working.

Despite the Brown family struggles, people from all across America have expressed their most sincere wishes that the family be able to get through this tumultuous time. According to The Hollywood Gossip, fans have thrown some shade towards one of the members of the family, Bam Bam, for "abandoning" the Brown family in their time of need. However, he had departed the show back in season 6 to focus on his own life.

Currently, Discovery Channel has not revealed the release date for season 8 yet. However, it is speculated that the season will premiere sometime in 2018.
