When we fail at something, especially if we do so more than once, we can quickly lose confidence. Things that appear easy and extremely possible for others can be challenging and seemingly impossible for us. It's crucial that we remember that although completing certain tasks may be beyond the bounds of possibility for us, certain things unattainable, we are not always working towards them alone. God is always with us and He makes the impossible possible every day.
For the impossible to be made possible we need to fully trust in God. In order to do this we need to cast any doubts aside, no matter how reasonable they appear to be. We also need to show recognition that we cannot do it alone by appealing to Him for His help.
Making the impossible possible isn't the same as granting every desire. Just because something we want to happen doesn't become a reality, this doesn't mean that God is powerless. Not every aim we have is compatible with God's plan.
We have every reason to be courageous and optimistic and not just because we're told to be. God has proven His power in the past – the Bible gives us many examples of Him doing so – but He also proves it in our present. God's word is a great confidence booster during times when we have to face the unfeasable. As well as finding examples of God's greatness, we can also rediscover accounts of His ability to do what would would ordinarily be unachievable.
Here are seven Bible verses which boldly state our ability to share the benefits of God's greatness and achieve anything.
Matthew 19:26 - Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Luke 1:36-37 - And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.
Jeremiah 32:17 - 'Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
Mark 9:20-23 - So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?""It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes."
Job 42:2 - "I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted."
Genesis 18:13-14 - Then the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?' Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son."
Ephesians 3:20 - Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
