7 Bible verses to reassure of you of God's constant protection

In the wake of a tragedy or before we take on a particularly challenging new experience, we often wonder who will protect us. Depending on the circumstances, we may look to the emergency services, legal representative or members of our family. But in every case God is there to protect us. God's protection might not always equate to what we desire it to be - complete absence of harm - but whenever we face tough trials we never face them alone.

Sometimes the ways in which God protects us means that we may initially face upset. This is evident in cases involving the pruning of harmful relationships or habits. And because we don't always see the full picture, in some cases, the danger that we're exposed to is a fraction of what we would have experienced without God's protection.

At times it can seem impossible to be constantly protected. But even at times when harm is occuring around us, God's protection can come in the form of a deep spiritual peace or clarity.

In a world where it can be easy to think that evil triumphs, it's important to remind ourselves of the power of God's protection. Here are seven Bible verses which will help you do just that.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 - But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Psalm 23:1-4 - The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

2 Samuel 22:3-4 - My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my saviour — from violent people you save me. "I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies."

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me," declares the Lord.

Psalm 91:1-3 - Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.

Psalm 121:7-8 - The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

2 Timothy 4:18 - The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
