'WWE 2K17' roster, release date: Game launching Oct. 25?

WWE 2K16, the current game in the serires2K Games, Take-Two Interactive

As previously reported, "WWE 2K17" is confirmed to launch this coming October; however, a specific release date has not yet been announced by 2K Games. But according to a report from Attack of the Fanboy, it is possible that the game will be released by Oct. 25 if the publishers follow the same release pattern of previous titles.

As stated in the report, the October release window was confirmed when the official "WWE 2K" Facebook page shared the financial report of the game's publisher, Take-Two Interactive. The report revealed that the game will launch in October but no specific date was listed.

Most games generally launch on a Tuesday and past "WWE 2K" games reportedly released during late October. As stated by Attack of the Fanboy, the last Tuesday of October is Oct. 25 and this may be the most likely launch date for "WWE 2K17."

However, this release may only be for the newer generation of consoles. According to the report, the game still has a TBA (to be announced) marking regarding the platforms that it will be released on. The last game in the series released for the PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 but that may no longer be the case with the next game in the series.

Instead, it is possible that the next game will only launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This may explain the previously reported cases where some of the wrestlers have had to fly back to the studios to get their face and features scanned since they would be used for better graphics.

To implement better graphics the game would have to leave behind the older generation of consoles. It is noted in the report that other companies have begun to do the same and now the next "Call of Duty" game is no longer launching for the PS3 and Xbox 360, focusing solely on the PS4 and Xbox One.
