In the next episode of "The Flash," Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash (Grant Gustin) is abducted by the villainous Clifford DeVoe a.k.a. The Thinker (Neil Sandilands).

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Don't Run" was just recently released and showed Flash waking up and realizing that he has been taken by Thinker. The speedster asks Clifford, "I'm here for a reason. Why?" The evil genius answers him, "The lesson for today is that there are no happy endings." The Thinker then psychically ambushes Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) who is thrown against a Christmas tree at Star Labs. The Flash suddenly warns the villain, "If you hurt him, if you put a hand on him!" It seems that Clifford is going to do whatever it takes to bend the will of the scarlet speedster.

Clifford's wife Marlize a.k.a. The Mechanic (Kim Engelbrecht) reminds the defiant Allen, "His body may be human [but] his brain is smarter than yours." Apparently, DeVoe was affected by the dark matter explosion from Star Labs which turned him into a super-intelligent metahuman. He can map out all possibilities based form one action and predict the likeliest outcome. Needless to say, Thinker is always several steps ahead of Team Flash and can determine their every move. It remains to be seen if Team Flash will be able to save Allen and possibly defeat the evil genius.

In the last episode, Allen married his longtime girlfriend Iris West (Candice Patton) at an impromptu ceremony officiated by John Diggle (David Ramsey). Prior to that happy outcome, Allen and the team, together with the Legends and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), were able to defeat the villains from the alternate dimension, Earth-X.

"The Flash" season 4 episode 9 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
