'Suits' season 5: Is Claire the whistleblower behind Mike's arrest?

Who is the snitch who ratted on Mike in "Suits" season 5B? USA Network

It looks like the jury has spoken. As far as the viewers are concerned, the snitch who ratted on Mike (Patrick J. Adams) is ex-girlfriend Claire (Troian Bellisario).

The USA Network has recently conducted a poll where fans can vote on who they think is the person who made it known to the authorities that Mike's whole life is a fraud. At the moment, Claire is leading with 24 percent of votes. Laura (Megan Gallagher) and Trevor (Tom Lipinsk) are close contenders, getting 16 and 13 percent, respectively. Other names include Daniel Hardman (David Costabile), Father Parker (Scott Michael Campbell) and Jack Soloff (John Pyper-Ferguson).

Spoilers report that the answer to the million-dollar question on who turned Mike in will be revealed in episode 11 of season 5B. Executive producer Aaron Korsh previously told TV Guide that viewers might not be as surprised when they find out the whistleblower's identity.

"I don't know if everybody will be [surprised by the person's identity]. But there's a long list of people who knew and there are certainly plenty of other people who could've found out and handed him in even though we've never seen them know," he said.

During the midseason finale, Mike was arrested for conspiracy to commit fraud, moments after he filed his resignation from Pearson Specter Litt. He and fiancée Rachel (Meghan Markle) were about to start a new life together, away from the prying eyes that could expose him for who he was. Harvey (Gabriel Macht) has his work cut out for him, proving that Mike is innocent of the crime. Amidst all the scandal, he also has to protect the firm's credibility; otherwise, they will all go down with Mike.

Meanwhile, Adams told Backstage that he was relieved that Mike's secret was out. He said that there was a moment back in season 3 when they could have revealed the truth about his character. The actor admitted he was happy that they were through dealing with the exposé they "were building up to for a long time."

"Suits" season 5 will return on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 10 p.m. EST on USA Network.
