Aside from a full line of new smartphones, Sony may have plans to counter the rumored iPad Pro or iPad Air Plus and the update of the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, as rumors are emerging that Sony is also working on a 13-inch slate dubbed as Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet.

Chinese tech website PadNews has published the specs sheet of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra, and it immediately spread like wildfire among other tech publications. Based on the specs sheet, the tablet will boast an incredibly large 12.97 inches Triluminos IPS display with X-Reality engine and 3,840 x 2,400 pixels resolution, which is equivalent to 16:10 aspect ratio and 4K UHD.

Under the hood, the tablet comes with the forthcoming Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm clocked at 2.86 GHz. The tablet will be impressive with 6 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 12,100 mAh battery capacity and PS4 Remote Play feature all packed inside its 8.6mm thick body.

At the back, the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra will pack a 1/2.3″ Exmor RS sensor with f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* lens and 8-megapixel Superior Auto resolution. The tablet will most likely run with the latest version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

According to Chinese media, the Japanese OEM manufacturer may announce the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra in January at the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2015 in Las Vegas. The intriguing tablet from Sony is rumored to arrive with alongside other Sony Xperia Z4 devices –Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4 Compact, Xperia Z4 Ultra (phablet), and a regular, 10-inch Xperia Z4 tablet.

Other reports claimed that the Z4 smartphone line will be launched at the Mobile World Congress in March 2015. This is supported by a leaked email from Sony's chief executive that is circulating online. However, this should be taken as a grain of salt as Sony has not announced anything official yet.
