Fans of the "Pokémon" games should go online because Nintendo and Game Freak have released a new update, patch 1.4, for "Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire." The update is also applicable to "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y."
The new patch update is already available and it is mandatory in order for players to enjoy online features. This means players won't be able to trade and battle online until they get the new update for their games. It's free but the size of the updates go between 250 and 270 blocks so it might take some time to download depending on the player's connection.
According to VG247, the new update is set to fix several in-game text errors, glitches, and bugs that could impede a player from continuing their game. Fans have reported minor bugs that affect their save files as well as minor errors with text fonts and typos, all of which will be addressed with the new patch update.
However, the patch isn't the only new thing that players should get excited for. According to Venture Capital Post, the Mythical dual-type Hoopa will be available soon. According to the report, this new Pokémon will be given at "Pokémon" events and it is speculated that it will become available right after the new movie, "Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages," is released. There is no Western release date as of the time of writing but it is scheduled to be shown in Japan on July 18.
Hoopa comes in both its confined and unbound form. Hoopa Confined can transform into the more powerful Hoopa Unbound by digesting the Prison Bottle item. This transformation lasts a total of three days. Hoopa Confined is a psychic and ghost type while its Unbound form is a true psychic-ghost combination.
Hoopa's Pokédex information reads, "In its true form, it possess a huge amount of power. Legends of its avarice tell how it once carried off an entire castle to gain the treasure hidden within."
The new creature is not available through regular gameplay and was only discovered when hackers dug into the game's code. This will be the first time that Hoopa will be officially playable in the game.
