The upcoming episode of "NCIS" season 13 puts Abby in serious danger. Ominously titled "Lockdown," the installment starts off with the chief forensic scientist investigating a murder case in a pharmaceutical lab, which sadly is part of a building a group of armed men chose to hijack.

As much as Abby wants to call for help, she is unable to as she is left with zero means of communication to the outside world. Although this is the case, Abby would certainly not prefer watching others wait for their fate in horror and so she will in no way be sitting idly until something happens.

Everyone inside the building has become hostage including her. But instead of waiting for someone to save them, she decides to step up to the plate and parleys for the wellbeing of her fellow hostages, which, of course, can go both ways.

Promised as an installment to show a different side of Abby, "NCIS" season 13 episode 5 will show the forensic expert negotiating with their captors to free the people in the building. It remains to be seen what sort of settlement she will get out of these mad armed men.

Here's hoping that Abby's efforts won't lead her to bigger hazard. But fans can expect Agent Gibbs and the team in the scene not only for some action but for a display of sincere worry about their workmate. Although it is still a mystery what condition the building will be in when they get there.

Interestingly, this is just one of the extremely rare times fans will see Abby out of her lab and away from her babies aka tools and apparatuses. And in this "NCIS" season 13 installment, it will either be proven that she chose the wrong day to go out or be shown that she is more than just a scientist.

"NCIS" season 13 episode 5 "Lockdown" will air Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
