Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Marc Gasol is not interested in a move

It is a foregone conclusion that Marc Gasol is staying in Memphis. At this point, there isn't even an inkling that the Spaniard would consider a change in zip code.

Though a team like the Los Angeles Lakers can offer Gasol big money, it goes without saying that blood is sometimes thicker than water. This is with reference to the unforgettable tenure that brother Pau Gasol had during his time with the Lakers.

It will be recalled that Pau never really hit it off with the Lakers, often a figure of criticism. Pau is of course now with the Chicago Bulls and seems to be fitting in perfectly.

Marc seems to be using that as leverage though that time was during the term of Mike D' Antoni. Pau never fit into the system that D'Antoni had, seeing the Spaniard often lost in transition.

The Lakers are of course under new control with Byron Scott at the helm. Though Scott has been known to focus on defense, it is likely that Marc could be getting more touches on the offensive end.

Still and all, why leave for another team if you are happy where you are?

Marc has spent all of his years in Memphis and thus far has nothing much to complain about. He is in great company with Zach Randolph and Mike Conley so why jump ship when you essentially have a team that can probably get better with a few more quality additions?

With the Lakers out, the closes team that could probably interest Marc Gasol would be the Spurs. Though a longshot, the Spurs can offer him a max contract but more importantly a chance at what any NBA player dreams of – a possible shot at an NBA title.

But would that be enough to convince Gasol to jump ship?

For now, it seems unlikely Marc Gasol would jump ship. The Spaniard seems to have no reason to leave Memphis.
