'GTA 6' rumors: Ryan Gosling to be featured?

Rumors still continue to surround the next installment in the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, and the latest buzz seems to indicate that a star may lead the upcoming "GTA 6" title.

According to speculations, developer Rockstar Games will take a page out of other developers' books and will feature an actor as the lead protagonist in the next instalment of "GTA." Rumors have named Ryan Gosling as the main character for the sixth installment.

The info allegedly came from an anonymous source from inside Rockstar Games itself, and that the move to have Gosling be the lead star for "GTA 6" would harken back to the days of "GTA Vice City," which also starred big-name actors.

In addition, it seems that the next installment under the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise will take place again in Vice City in the 80's, since the part of the lead protagonist was already tailor-made for Gosling. Observers note that this might make the next title a game adaptation of the actor's film "Drive," which was reported as inspired by "GTA: Vice City."

For hardcore "GTA" fans, this might be a bit of a bad news, since adaptations from movie to games and vice-versa tend to be linear and restricted in scope, especially in terms of the plot and gameplay. However, it should be noted that these speculations remain as rumors, as Rockstar Games declines to comment on them or provide other details about the upcoming "Grand Theft Auto 6."

Still, the developer just might have something new planned for the next title.

"We've got about 45 years' worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas," Rockstar Games head Leslie Benzies said way back in October 2013 when "GTA Online" was still in development.
