3 reasons to keep believing that your best days are yet to come

You've got to believe that your best days are yet to come. Some of us get stuck in the "glory days" of the past. Because of this, we fail to see that God is doing an awesome thing in our lives today.

Friend, if you want to see greater things than what you've experienced, then you've got to obey the Lord God who said, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honour me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise." (Isaiah 43:18-21)

Do you want to see the new things that God is doing? If you say yes, then you should stop staying in the past glory that you've had, and start believing that the better days of your life are ahead of you. Here are some reasons to believe why.

1. God's mercies are new every morning

Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us, "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)

If you've experienced the Lord's goodness yesterday, then you're going to experience it anew today. Why? It's because God's mercies are "new every morning." You've got to believe that God has a fresh store of mercies available for you with every morning that you wake up. Go on and ask the Lord for them.

2. God keeps doing new things

God, in Isaiah 43:18-21, said that we should forget the past because He's doing new things. Think about it. He said those words to the Israelites who knew that in the days of old, God created the universe from nothing, provided deliverance from Egypt using great signs and wonders, parted the sea for His people to cross, rained manna from heaven for bread to eat, healed people of their illnesses, and a lot more. Why would God tell them that?

It's because men often get stuck in the glory of the past. God never gets rusty, never gets overworked, never loses fresh ideas, and never loses creativity. If we stay in the past, we won't see the new things that He enjoys doing. Remember, old wineskins burst when new wine is poured in!

3. God isn't finished yet

While Jesus' work of atonement is already finished on the cross, God's overall plan isn't finished yet. The Bible says that, "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)

This means that being saved by grace through faith was only the starting line of what God has done and will do to, in, and through us! God's not done with you yet, so keep believing for better days in Him no matter what happens.
