Zayn Malik solo song 'I Won't Mind' was for One Direction, not his rumored solo album

Zayn Malik officially left the band One Direction on March 25 and it was a big surprise to fans when his new collaborator, Naughty Boy, posted the song "I Won't Mind" on Soundcloud. Everyone assumed it would be a new track on Zayn's supposed new album but it no longer seems to be the case.

The song is no longer on SoundCloud, just a day after it was uploaded, and an insider at the Daily Mail cleared things by explaining the origin of the song.

"It's important fans know this isn't a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future. If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It's not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track," read the statement from the insider.

The insider continues to state that Zayn and Naughty Boy were not "furiously" working together at the moment and that the song was not recorded in the few days following Malik's departure from One Direction.

In response to the song's unofficial release, One Direction member Louis Tomlinson posted on Twitter that Naughty Boy was merely "trying to wind the fans up." He then called Naughty inconsiderate.

Zayn Malik has not given any comment regarding the matter. He has given no official statement regarding the new rumored solo album and if he would indeed collaborate with producer Naughty Boy.

The Daily Mail insider stated that Malik had been taking some time to visit the producer and his studio so there is the possibility that they will work on a few tracks in the foreseeable future.

Despite the fact that the song was pulled down from SoundCloud, it is still available on Zayn Malik's YouTube page for fans to listen to. There has been no movement from One Direction to have it pulled down since the song does not use any recording of the four other band members.
