YWAM 50 Days of Prayer to Light up World Mission

Youth With A Mission (YWMA) has recently introduced a massive prayer initiative to pray for world missions, especially for the unreached countries where the Gospel has not yet been proclaimed, so called "omega zones".

In 50 days of prayer and fasting starting from the Easter Day on 27th March until Pentecost on 15th May, YWMAers across the world will pray for each of the omega zones under the guidance of the prayer resources provided on the official website (www.50days.net).

According to YWMA, this prayer initiative is inspired by the culmination of God’s words to YWAM since 2001. YWAM have said that they have received a strong calling to "re-align" itself with the values and visions that God has revealed to it since its foundation, and to embrace the apostolic calling to go into "all the world".

The 50-days period chosen by YWAM has a strong biblical reference. Back to the times of Jesus, between the time Jesus was resurrected on Easter Day and the Holy Spirit was sent down from the Heaven at Pentecost, the purpose of the new Christian church was made clear. In their efforts to become the true apostles of the modern day era, they are committed to taking the astonishing news about the love of God, evidenced by Christ's death and resurrection, and preach this to all nations.

YWAM, through the same period, would like to rediscover its founding vision: "To know God and to make him known". When YWAM's all over the world are renewed through prayers, it is hoped that the world mission will be lighted up.

Currently, YWMA identified 4,379 omega zones remaining in the world which are all listed on www.50days.net. Participants of the prayer initiative can pray for specific omega zones and log their prayers on the website; the regions that have been prayed for will then be lighted up on the map.

www.50days.net will be fully launched by 27th March when the 50 days of prayer of fasting starts. The 50 Days of Prayer and Fasting has been called by the Global Leadership Team of YWAM International. It is being championed by International Chairman, Lynn Green and Team3 (Lynn, plus Ian Muir, International Director and John Dawson, President) and the Founders, Loren and Darlene Cunningham.
