It seems like more original "Twin Peaks" cast members will sign up to join the revival of the popular 1990s serial crime drama.

Deadline recently revealed speculations on the supposed return of actress Sherilyn Fenn to reprise her role as Audrey Horne in the new installment of top-rated horror mystery series.

As there is no word yet to confirm the report, Fenn's involvement in the reboot of "Twin Peaks" is still uncertain because the actress is currently in the latest season of Showtime's "Shameless."

At the moment, Showtime has only confirmed that Kyle MacLachlan had signed in to reprise his role as Special Agent Dale Cooper in the series. Other rumors claimed that other original stars like Miguel Ferrer will return as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield and David Patrick Kelly will once again portray the role of Audrey's brother Jerry Horne.

CinemaBlend reported that Sheryl Lee, who portrayed the roles of Laura Palmer and her cousin Maddy Ferguson in the series, has also been photographed on the set in the "Twin Peaks" reboot. But since her characters died in the original series, it is still a mystery how the actress will enter the new installment of the series.

Meanwhile, sources exclusively confirmed to TV Line that Laura Dern has been tapped by "Twin Peaks" co-creator David Lynch to join the series reboot in a very important role.

The details about Dern's role in the series are still unrevealed, but several speculations claimed that the critically acclaimed actress could possibly portray the role of Diane, Agent Cooper's mysterious secretary.

Aside from the original cast, the nine-episode limited series reboot will also feature Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty, and Bailey Chase to portray new characters on the show.

Showtime will release the "Twin Peaks" reboot in 2017, according to CBS CEO Leslie Moonves.
