Summit to Discuss Future of Local Church in Europe

Next Wave International will host a unique summit of European church leaders in May, to discuss the future role of local churches in European society.

"There's a huge spiritual vacuum across much of Europe today," says Mal Fletcher, director of Next Wave International. "Church leaders have decided to be proactive in their response, looking for positive ways to reshape life in Europe."

The 2020Conference will take place in Malaga in Spain from 3 to 5 May and focus on the big challenges facing European societies and how the church can respond to these with faith and hope.

The summit continues a theme established at a similar event last year.

"What this forum brings is a prophetic insight into what God might be saying now, to the church and to Europe as a whole," says Clive Urquhart, leader of the Kingdom Faith church network in the UK.

"We're creating an extraordinary network of friendships with people who share the same vision for Europe," adds Robert Radix, leader of a large church network in France. "We're not just looking ahead to the next five years, but to the next 15 or 20 years."

Guest contributors at the summit will include Rev Joel Edwards, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance in the UK, author and social researcher Winkie Pratney and world-renowned evangelist Arthur Blessitt, famous for carrying a cross on the world's longest walk and has shared his faith with presidents, kings and popes, as well as the world's poor.
