'Star Fox Zero' release date: Game expected to arrive spring of 2016

"Star Fox Zero" appears to have a more definite release window.

With Nintendo releasing its official lineup of games for the 3DS and the Wii U, most people immediately looked at the launch date for bigger named titles such as "The Legend of Zelda" for the current gen console, but lost in the shuffle was the news regarding "Star Fox Zero."

The release window for "Star Fox Zero" was also revealed in that list and according to it, fans can expect it to arrive during the spring of next year, Shacknews reported.

The new release window puts the game further out from its initially announced launch date of December 2015.

According to the game's co-director, Yusuke Hashimoto, the biggest reason for why "Star Fox Zero" has been delayed is due to the team behind it seeking to provide only the best quality experience they can to players, Gamespot reported.

Work is still being done to help improve the levels and the cutscenes inside the game and that has factored into the delay.

According to iDigital Times, another possible reason for why "Star Fox Zero" may have been delayed is because a new multiplayer mode may been added. When the game was initially announced, it reportedly did not feature any kind of multiplayer mode, though it is worth noting that such a feature was not explicitly deemed to be an improbable addition to the game.

Still, with no formal announcement regarding a possible multiplayer mode being added, that amounts to speculation for now.

Fans can still expect "Star Fox Zero" to provide a different gaming experience than what they may have been used to when it does come out.

With the game being designed for both the Wii U GamePad and the television, players can expect something new from "Star Fox Zero," though whether that will be worth the wait is a question that can only be answered by spring of next year.
