It is widely believed that Google will be launching its latest Nexus 5 handset and Nexus 10 2 tablet during an event slated for October 14, 2013.

The tech giant is set to host the 2013 Big Bang event, where the two devices will be officially unveiled to the public featuring the all new Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system.

The latest Nexus 10 2 leak by @evleaks shows a photo of a product screen that says, "Google Asus Nexus 10" and "10" WiFi Tablet / Product – Planning Group- ANDROID TABLET." The actual photo of the Nexus 10 2 is not available.

Google's Nexus 5 will compete with Apple's iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4.

Leaked benchmark tests from last week show that Google's next smartphone reigned in the graphics department. The phone reportedly outperformed the iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and other top Android phones in gaming simulations. The device reportedly clocked in with a score of 23.1 framers per second, outperforming the Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2, the Galaxy S4, HTC One and Apple''s iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5S reportedly had an identical score with the Nexus 5, thanks to a powerful Adreno 330 GPU that the next generation Nexus handset is slated to pack. The graphics chip may be what shoves the Nexus 5 into the same league as the iPhone 5S.

The mid to high-range phone will pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor chip and feature a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 resolution using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology.

It's 13 megapixel camera will have unique shooting features and there will also be a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. With 2 or 3GB RAM, 2700mAh battery, and the Adreno 330 GPU, it is expected to be a powerful mid-range phone. The device is also rumored to be built by LG.

Google's Nexus 4 was popular due to its mid-range specs and affordable budget price. An unlocked and no-contract version of the phone was only $299. The price of the Nexus 5 is expected to be similar to that of the Nexus 4 - with a possible price increase of 30 perecent.

Google's Nexus 5 is one of the last major phones expected to be released before the end of 2013, and is highly anticipated by consumers all over the world.

The latest Android 4.4 Kitkat will feature an updated revamped user interface, improve battery life of the device, improve optimization of old Android mobile devices, and better performance.

Hershey and Nestle are currently running a large promotional campaign in the run up to the release of the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Customers can find KitKat bars wrapped with promotional ads for Android. Lucky winners can get their hands on a free Nexus 7 device or receive $25 worth of Google Play Store throughout the campaign, which is expected to last until the launch of the OS in October 14.
