Deeks's (Eric Christian Olsen) romantic and violent sides will be highlighted when "NCIS: LA" return for season 8.

Speaking at the panel during the MCM London Comic Con in late May, Olsen discussed how Kensi's (Daniel Ruah) presence in his life will help in controlling the violent tendencies that Deeks has possessed since he was young.

"This character shot his dad; his dad was wielding a shotgun and was abusive to his mother. This character killed a cop in defense of a girl. This character obviously has issues of violence solving violence, especially when it comes to women that he cares about," the actor shared.

This could mean that Deeks must begin to control his violent urges whenever he faces a particularly difficult situation if he wants to avoid following in his father's footsteps.

"The way that I play that is that's the moment that he becomes his father — because his father was that abusive to his mother — and he realizes that's who he's become. So it's more about his own fear of becoming the monster that he hates the most," Olsen added.

Meanwhile, Deeks might also pop the big question to Kensi in the next season of "NCIS: Los Angeles."

In a previous report from TVGuide, new executive producer Scott Gemmill said that Deeks and Kensi will decide to take their relationship to another level in the upcoming season.

"We will not see, I don't think, a proper proposal until next season, because we have an idea for how to do that that I want to play out," Gemmill said. He also mentioned that he already has an idea how the proposal will take place, but he and the writers should further discuss how to make it as perfect as possible since that have all been waiting for it.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 is expected to be in the Sunday 2016 line-up of CBS when it premieres this fall.
