'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date update: Lead writer Chris Schlerf leaves BioWare; launch delayed until November 2017?

Fans are starting to worry about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" with another BioWare staff member leaving. The game's lead writer Chris Schlerf recently announced his exit from the game studio, adding that he is now working with "Destiny" developer Bungie.

 Bioware

"To confirm what some folks asked about a few months back, I am no longer working on ME:A at BioWare Montreal," Schlerf tweeted. "Sincerely one of the best experiences of my career-I'm incredibly grateful to have worked [with] such talented [and] truly wonderful human beings," he added.

Schlerf also teased that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is "really gonna blow people away" and that he is "excited like a [little] kid" to play the game when it hits the shelves. Prior to Schlerf's exit, senior development director Chris Wynn also left BioWare not too long ago.

Wynn, who was one of the most enthusiastic developers to tease "Mass Effect: Andromeda" back when he was affiliated with BioWare, went on to become the executive producer of the next iteration of "H1Z1." As for Schlerf, he teased that he and Bungie "have some interesting stories to tell."

There hasn't been news about "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The latest information involving the upcoming role-playing third-person shooter only involves the departure of Wynn and Schlerf. Gameplay details have been scarce.

What has only been established so far is that Commander Shepard will no longer lead the mission, which allegedly takes players in the uncharted regions of space. There will purportedly be bigger worlds to explore as well as new alien breeds to either befriend or battle.

There are no details as to the identity of the new helmer of the adventure but word on the street is that he or she will be called a pathfinder, an untested explorer who will grow as players go about the game.

As for the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" release date, reports hint that the game will be ready by November 2017.
