Singers Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon enjoyed a whirlwind romance and immediately tied the knot after only two months of dating. Their six-year marriage eventually ended in December 2014 and their divorce was finalised this year. Nevertheless, Carey and Cannon remain on good terms.

Cannon even talked about his past marriage during a guest appearance on The Breakfast Club. When asked if they waited until marriage to have sex, Cannon answered "absolutely."

"We were both on the same page because I was in a place where I was being celibate at the time, and I think that's one of the ways that we bonded for the first time," Cannon said.

He admitted that a lot of people have wondered how they could have gotten married so fast, but back then, the TV host and rapper said it seemed like marriage was the only direction to take.

"When you feel like you're on the same wavelength spiritually and you're trying to get to where you're trying to get to, those pheromones are jumping. You're like, Well, if we're not going to have sex until we get married then call the pastor," he said.

Cannon also said that a lot of people don't know the real Carey, who is a good Christian girl at heart. When they first met, all they discussed were "spiritual stuff" and they bonded over prayer.

"A lot of people don't know, she's really a good girl and conservative when it comes to that and deep into the Bible. People just wouldn't think about that, so we had that connection," he said of his ex-wife.

Carey and Cannon have five-year-old twin children together named Morrocan Scott and Monroe Cannon. This March, Carey got engaged with billionaire businessman James Packer, but the two have called it quits. As for Cannon, he is expecting a baby girl with his ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell.
