The concept of "man creates something that ultimately destroys him" has been rehashed and revamped in Hollywood multiple times. But none so far has been quite as successful as this year's box office hit, "Jurassic World."

The fourth film in the "Jurassic" series is currently the third highest grossing film of all time (just behind 1997's "Titanic" and 2009's "Avatar"), earning a staggering $1.6 billion worldwide.

It was first confirmed earlier this year that a sequel to the science fiction adventure film. "Jurassic World 2" is aiming for a release in 2018.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be reprising their roles of Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively, in the dinosaur sequel.

"Jurassic World 2," however, might not be taking place in a theme park, unlike its predecessor. According to reports, the film might also be featuring some militarised dinosaurs.

Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first film and will be co-writing the sequel with Derek Connolly, said in an interview with Wired, "[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That'll get old real fast."

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment," he continued. "And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponise it and later on we found it could be used for energy."

The sequel is shaping up to be as action-packed as the first film, if not more. But even with all the thrills and effects that the film is sure to feature, character development is not something they'll ignore.

While speaking in the Jurassic Cast Podcast, Trevorrow revealed that Claire is "the one who evolves the most over the trilogy, it's her story that mirrors this changing world."

Howard's character in "Jurassic World" spent the entire time running around in heels. And in an interview with Cosmopolitan, Howard explained that her character needed to seem "ill-equipped to be in the jungle."

With all of this information, it looks like viewers will be seeing a heels-free Claire this time, especially since she also shared a text message she received from Trevorrow saying, "#NoHeels2018."

"Jurassic World 2" is expected to hit cinemas on June 22, 2018.
