'How to Get Away With Murder' season 2: Annalise has a new baby?

Does Annalise have a new baby in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2B? Facebook/ABC

The new "Thank God It's Thursday" (TGIT) promo released by ABC is chockfull of spoilers on what to expect from the Shonda Rhimes' series. The short teaser for "How to Get Away With Murder," specifically, got the fans wondering whether something major happened in the short time Annalise (Viola Davis) was not seen on television.

Entertainment Weekly has an interesting suggestion regarding the very intense scene in the promo, where viewers get a glimpse of a very distraught Annalise. She is holding a baby in her arms while pleading at someone off screen. The defense attorney is looking worse for wear, sporting an oyster-colored dressing gown and her face bare of makeup. The website was quick to interpret the reveal as a spoiler to Annalise getting a new baby. The two-month time-jump in the midseason premiere is certainly a very short time for her to conceive one biologically. This leaves the possibility that she adopted a kid.

Meanwhile, the second half of the current season will also dwell on who will take the fall for killing Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns). During the winter finale, Annalise found out that Asher (Matt McGorry) was the murderer. To save him, she and the Keating Five devised a plan so that Catherine (Amy Okuda) will take the blame for the Assistant District Attorney's death. They threw the body off the terrace of Hapstall Mansion. Annalise then asked the youngsters to shoot her on the leg to make it look like Catherine shot her. In a fit of rage, Wes (Alfred Enoch) put a bullet through her stomach after learning that his girlfriend was long dead.

After that bloody night, Annalise and her squad will be facing a lot of problems, as they all try to avoid jail time. Showrunner Pete Novalk told TV Line that season 2B would be tough on them, since Sinclair was a high profile murder victim. He hinted, however, that Annalise, being an expert in her field, has prepared for this eventuality.

"There will be forensic experts all up in there... Annalise, as a defense attorney, knows that creating a mess at the scene is the best strategy. But whether it works or not, we'll find out very quickly," the executive producer said.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 will return on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
