Google Nexus 6 release date rumors were renewed by the recent tweet from Android.

Although Google Nexus 6 rumors were overshadowed by the alleged Android Silver line, the tweet breathed new life and hope for the waiting fans of the Google handset. Team Android accidentally, or intentionally, tweeted an image of an unknown smartphone that does not resemble either the Nexus 4 or Nexus 5.

The tweet promotes easier grocery shopping. The device displayed in the photo sports a refurbished Nexus 5 design language with discernible curved corners.

"#Android makes even the most difficult grocery store choices simple. #OKGoogle pic.twitter.com/Ucu5alBtQE;" tweeted @Android on Jun.5.

Google and Android always use Nexus devices in their tweets. The unnamed device immediately sparked rumors that the company still gave a go signal to the release date of Nexus 6 smartphone. The Twitter user also tweeted another promotion using the Nexus 5.

This is not the first time that Google hinted its upcoming devices. The Moto X and Nexus 5 were also teased this way. The alleged Nexus 8 tablets made an appearance on Google's website, which started rumors that the search engine giant will release an 8-inch tablet.

However, Google has not disclosed any details about its roadmap for the year and onwards. Moreover, it has not confirmed nor denied the ongoing rumors about its devices. Google Nexus 6 release date was previously rumored to happen in the company's I/O conference kicking off on June 25; however, there are speculations that the handset will be released in October after a year in order to maximize profits.

Meanwhile, Google Nexus 6 was rumored to pack a 64-bit version of its Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz; 5.2-inch full-HD, curved LCD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass; 3 GB RAM; 13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera; Bluetooth; NFC; Micro-USB; Wi-Fi; and 4G. However, Google has not confirmed any of the aforementioned rumors.
