WWE Royal Rumble 2016 rumors: Triple H is heavy favorite to win it all at upcoming PPV

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will hold its annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) this weekend as Roman Reigns tries to fend off 29 other WWE superstars in an effort to keep his heavyweight title.

Despite a thin locker room, Reigns is in for a tough night since he doesn't have to be pinned or submitted to be dethroned. A simple toss over the top rope will end his reign as WWE champion, but the Big Dog is confident that he can weather the storm.

Favorites include Brock Lesnar, Sheamus, Kevin Owens, and Bray Wyatt among others. But there is one name that rings a bell — Triple H.

It has yet to be known if the WWE COO will be making his return as a participant in the 30-man battle royal but betting site Bovada has picked the WWE star as a heavy favorite to win it all at 6/5.

For those who are unaware, Reigns decimated Triple H at WWE TLC as the Big Dog was laying down a beating on Sheamus. Rather than being fired, Reigns was given the opportunity to snag the title from Sheamus the following night on WWE Raw which he successfully did.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon has since emerged to take over from Triple H and his main goal is to make life difficult for Reigns. The Royal Rumble stands to be the hardest obstacle to Reigns' reign and the icing on the cake could see Triple H walking away with the WWE title over at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida this Sunday.

Seeing Triple H get payback could reinforce claims that both will be facing off at WrestleMania 32 in April. But if Triple H wins the belt, it could also mean that the WWE is veering away from regular title matches, unless the WWE COO plans to compete regularly if he does win it all.
