Earlier this month, Lifetime announced the shows it will be axing. It came as a bit of a surprise when the network decided to pull the plug on "Witches of East End."

The reason for the cancellation is because the second season didn't do very well compared to the first one. According to Deadline, season 2 only averaged 1.1 million viewers. This was a 42 percent decrease from the ratings of the debut episode of season 1. Because of this, Lifetime Network cancelled it after just two seasons.

While there is not a big uproar like that of the cancellation of "Longmire," the fans are still eager to help the show get back on their TV screens. "Longmire" fans were successful in their endeavor. Their social media petitions and what-nots have now resulted to the show being picked up by another network, namely Netflix.

So, will "Witches of East End" be another "Longmire" success story? According to Cartermatt.com, the show has a big chance of getting picked up by another network given that it features good actors and it has a huge and dedicated fan following.  The petition for its return has already gathered over 70,000 signatures.

Cast member Rachel Boston, who plays Ingrid Beauchamp in the series, recently tweeted, "Thank you to everyone who went on this extraordinary journey with us. Your love, kindness, and support is forever magic."

It looks like she is ready to say goodbye to the show already.

"Witches of East End" also features Julia Ormond as Joanna Beauchamp, Mädchen Amick as Wendy Beauchamp, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Freya Beauchamp, Daniel Di Tomasso as Killian Gardiner, Eric Winter as Dash Gardiner, and Christian Cooke as Frederick Beauchamp.

Lifetime also axed "The Lottery" due to a 32 percent decrease in ratings from season 1. With these removals, Lifetime is adding "UnREAL" and "The Clan of the Cave." The network opted to renew "Devious Maids."
