Windows 10 will finally be unveiled on July 29, but Microsoft is not waiting until the end of the month to introduce its upcoming operating system to the world. The company is planning to unveil the new OS in a big way by hosting several global events.

Starting next week, the Redmond tech giant will kick off a global campaign that will run for a full year. The campaign, dubbed as "Upgrade Your World," will coincidentally run on the same time frame that Microsoft is giving users to upgrade their authentic Windows 7 and 8.1 versions for free.

Although the company has already stated that the rollout of Windows 10 will not be simultaneous for the millions of users all over the world — it will instead come out in a staggered basis in a span of weeks — the company will still be holding fan celebrations prior to the official July 29 launch.

First on the list is a global advertising campaign and hosting of fan celebrations in key cities and areas worldwide. According to Yusuf Mehdi of the company's Windows and Devices Group, the biggest campaign kick-off will be for Windows Insider program subscribers, which are also the first ones in line to receive the Windows 10 upgrade when it is launched.

Mehdi wrote on the official Microsoft blog, "We will celebrate the unprecedented role our biggest fans – more than 5 million Windows Insiders – played in the development of Windows 10 at special events in 13 cities around the world, including Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, São Paulo, and New York City."

Aside from organizing fan celebrations worldwide, Microsoft will also be partnering with different tech retailers to facilitate easy upgrade processes for the users. Some of the biggest names in the computer retail industry have already signed on for the partnership, including Best Buy, Staples, Wal-Mart, PC World/ Currys, and other leading retailers around the world.
