UFC news 2015: Jon Jones very proud of 'big sis' Holly Holm for knocking out Ronda Rousey

The congratulations are expected to overflow for Holly Holm after the Australian native scored one of the monumental upsets in the Universal Fighting Championship (UFC) history by beating Ronda Rousey via knock out (KO) in the second round of the fight during UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia last weekend.

And while Ronda Rousey is getting her share of being bashed and consoled by celebrities and critics, Holm is getting the expected attention, which has overwhelmed the 34-year-old former boxer who shifted to UFC fighting.

Leading the pack is none other than Jon Jones, another UFC fighter who was reinstated recently and is in line for a big match himself against rival Daniel Cormier soon.

Jones was one of the silent supporters backing up his Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA teammate and "big sis" before UFC 193 actually happened, so one could imagine how proud Bones was when Holm surprised everyone with the stunning KO win.

Words can't express how proud I am right now! Honestly can't think of anyone else who deserves to be a champion more than Holly Holm Congratulations big sis!

The memory of that upset is expected to stay in the air for now, although it does go into the record books as one of the shockers in the division. But most of all, Holm holds the distinction of handing Rousey her first-ever loss in the UFC, something that will stick for years to come.

Of course, a rematch is expected and Holm isn't going anywhere. She is awaiting the official word on it, although the likely place for that will be at UFC 200.

As for Jones, it remains to be seen when his equally interesting match against Cormier will happen after being reinstated following a hit-and-run incident that happened back in April. The UFC has yet to make the match official and fans are eager to see when the fight could possibly take place.

Jones technically didn't lose the title since it was stripped from him due to his outside issues. Cormier wants payback on Jones, the only person who handed him a defeat way back in January.
