Conor McGregor has been known to go to the extremes and seeing that he wants to prove a point against Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion Jose Aldo, he may go as far as trying to conquer a mountain.
And apparently, he has done just that when he did a light sparring session with "Game of Thrones" star Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson who plays Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane on the popular HBO series.
The session was, apparently, a mismatch if you consider the size and weight difference of the two, but at this point, what has McGregor got to lose? Not that he has any intention of going up the heavyweight division, but the workout should work to his advantage.
Well, right now it seems that McGregor is not affected by any kind of injury and his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) seems to be good to go. The Notorious is eager to finally face Aldo after their original tiff got waylaid when the Brazilian was forced to pull out due to a rib injury he suffered in training.
McGregor would reveal after UFC 189 that he too was injured, but decided to fight through it. McGregor won over substitute opponent Chad Mendes at that time, and such seems to have boosted his confidence.
With a healthy Aldo and McGregor, this showdown, which will happen at UFC 194 in December, should be pretty interesting. Both have jawed time and again especially during press conferences, sometimes almost leading to brawls.
But all that should finally be settled when the two rivals who have shown hatred on one another showcase their wares inside the proper setting, the Octagon, which will surely be a highly charged and emotional affair.
Will Aldo finally silence McGregor or will it be the other way around? If McGregor wins this one, he cements his hold as one of the top stars in the UFC.
Whatever happens, a loss for either fighter could be utterly devastating given how the two hate the other's guts. In the meantime, check out that light workout in the video below.
