Mark Ryan, the iconic voice of Bumblebee, has recently debunked rumors of a double plotline for the fifth installment of the Transformers franchise.
Movie News Guide reports that the voice actor was furious that online publications reported false information attributed to him. This was after the Internet caught fire with rumors about Optimus Prime–Cybertron and Unicron storylines. He said that he was misquoted in his casual chat with a fan while at an event in the United Kingdom.
"I'm totally stunned about the current and false online chatter about TF-5 and comments I did not make! I have never given an official interview regarding TF-5, nor would I even utter the words Unicron or Quintessons! I'm not in a position to!" he reiterated.
Rumors of the "Transformers 5" plotlines hounded the Web in recent weeks, especially as the franchise has offered very little information about the movie. According to several online sources, the first plot will follow the life of Cade Yeager (Wahlberg) on Earth, as he teams up with the Autobots and Dinobots to save the world. The second one is said to focus on Optimus Prime's journey in space as he searches for his ancestors, the Quintessons. This reportedly includes the appearance of Unicorn, a giant transformer, who will take him and the Autobots to an epic intergalactic battle.
Meanwhile, Hasbro Chief Content Officer Steven J. Davis has revealed that his team of writers have been working not only on the fifth movie, but in the next four films as well. Crossmap reports that Davis' revelation came after Akiva Goldsman was confirmed to join the franchise. He said that it was a joy working with nine of the most creative minds in the business. Goldsman won an Academy Award for "A Beautiful Mind," and has written a roster of movies through the years.
"They plotted out the next 10 years of Transformers. Similarly, we are doing the same in television and in digital. So stay tuned, Transformers 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8," Davis said.
"Transformers 5" is set to be released in 2017.
