When developer Activision announced that there will be a new installment to herald the return of the much-hyped "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" series, the company also stated that aside from featuring board legend Tony Hawk, there will be a new crew of skaters for the upcoming title. In addition, it seems that the upcoming skateboard platformer will also have exclusive items available for hardcore players.

New details on the upcoming "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" surfaced in a post from the official PlayStation blog. According to the post by Josh Tsui, president of Robomodo, one of the companies currently working on the title, the fifth instalment in the "Tony Hawk" series will feature some exclusives for PlayStation players.

Those who will play on the PlayStation 3 and 4 will get the console versions of the game together with character heads from Sony-exclusive games – Ratchet, Sweet Tooth, and Sackboy. Meanwhile, those who are into the current-gen Sony console will also have the chance to play online through dedicated servers. In addition, the freeskate levels for the online mode also serve as lobbies for up to 20 different "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" players, and gamers can switch between different missions and online matches without worrying about lags and point drops.

Tsui wrote that aside from the console exclusives, the release of the title will also have new content for players who will purchase the game through pre-orders.

He stated, "The pre-order exclusives from GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon are all live, so be sure to eye those and pick your poison. There are differences between what is offered for the PS4 and PS3 versions, so be mindful of that."

Tsui also confirmed the release dates for the title, saying, "It will be available for PS4 on September 29, 2015 for $59.99, and the PS3 version will show up before the holidays for $39.99."
