The pressure is said to fall on "Tokyo Ghoul's" anime series as its latest manga release is one of the top mangas purchased in the U.S. Now, it is rumored that season 3 could possibly be back on the air before 2016 ends.

Data from Nielsen BookScan top 20 list of manga and comics for the month of August showed that the eighth volume of "Tokyo Ghoul" is on the #7 spot. Surprisingly, the first volume of the series is still creating many sales in the country that it still got the #17spot on the list.

Since the manga series has received positive feedbacks, fans are now speculating that the third series for its anime adaptation is under greater pressure compared to the seasons which came before, especially now that it is over a year and a half since the previous installment wrapped things up. Fans are unaware of the reason for the long wait, but rumors suggest that there is not enough material from the manga to cover a whole season, thus the studio is not able to announce a release date.

However, fans are eagerly looking forward to "Tokyo Ghoul's" season 3. There are even fan-made theories suggesting what could transpire when the series goes back on the air. One of them suggests that Ken Kaneki will proclaim himself as the One-Eyed King after defeating Kishou Arima, the head of the CCG, the group that hunts down the ghouls. This was based on the 86th chapter of the manga. The setting is also speculated to be two years after the events of the previous season.

It is also rumored that several confrontations will happen between a terrorist group called Aogiri Tree and the CCG. The federal agency is said to launch "The Quinx Squad" that will annihilate the other ghouls in Tokyo. The group is led by a certain Haise Sasaki, who is said to be a disguised Kaneki.

Fans are excited for the arrival of the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul." However, the creators are tight-lipped about the show, and no official statement has been issued regarding its plot or its premiere date as of this moment.
