As "The Walking Dead" prepares to introduce a new character in the upcoming second episode of the seventh season, fans may finally get an insight into the relationship of the Saviors with the people of Alexandria before Rick and his "family" arrived at the safe zone.

AMC released two new promos for the second episode of season 7 — entitled "The Well" — with the first promo bound to be heartbreaking for fans of the show as it showed Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors arriving at Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) doorstep to collect on their deal.

After the harrowing events of the season premiere where Negan killed two of Rick's family — Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) — and broke Rick by pressuring him to chop off Carl's (Chandler Riggs) arm, Rick concedes control of Alexandria to Negan. In the clip, Rick announces to the residents of Alexandria that he is no longer in charge.

The second promo shows Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) arriving safely among a community called "The Kingdom," which is ruled by a person called King Ezekiel (Khary Payton). In their conversation, Morgan told Carol that he did not fully divulge where they were really from, while Carol agrees to be cautious.

Based on the comic books, Ezekiel is the leader of the "The Kingdom", a high school compound surrounded by a wall of buses and sheet metal. Ezekiel — who owns a pet tiger named Shiva — has a good relationship with the Hilltop Colony.

Ezekiel is believed to be instrumental in a future war against the Saviors that will be jointly undertaken by The Kingdom, the Hilltop Colony, and members of the Alexandria Safe Zone.

Meanwhile, an Inquisitr report hinted that the seventh season could explore the history of the Saviors' relationship with the leaders of the Safe Zone, which could answer the question as to whether Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) herself struck a deal with Negan to keep the community safe, or if Rick's encounter against the Saviors was the first time that the community was threatened by Negan's group.

"The Well" airs on Sunday, Oct. 30 on AMC.
