Is Klaus Mikaelson's (Joseph Morgan) rise to power in the cards when The CW's "The Originals" returns for its fourth season?

It seems likely because the actor himself teased some things that could happen in season 4 via his Instagram account, reported Game N' Guide.

Among the things he said that fans could look forward to is a major betrayal. The second item on the agenda is shifting allegiances, which means that Klaus could be on the receiving end of some major support, which will help him return to power. Morgan also said that fans should watch out for a bloodier season, which could be interpreted in several ways since "The Originals" is a vampire show.

But the most telling of his teases is when he said, "but most of all, there will be Klaus."

Meanwhile, a post from the Inquisitr revealed that there is a possibility of a strange bond that will form between Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Rebekah (Claire Holt).

"Rebekah, like her siblings, has gotten caught up into the unified family takedown and spent five years in an alternate reality and is now back once again with that same choice she always has: What is my life supposed to be outside this crazy family. Kol, interestingly enough, is asking himself those same questions. The two of them are going to bond in a way that we haven't gotten to see so much about what their future is in this family and how much of this crazy they're expected to live through," executive producer Julie Plec said.

Meanwhile, a new villain is expected to enter the picture, reported TV Guide.

Described as "a sadistic vampire" heading to the Big Easy to settle a "centuries-old grudge" against Klaus, rumors say that the villain could use Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) to fulfill his evil plans.

Season 4 of "The Originals" is set to return to The CW early in 2017.
