When The CW's "The Originals" returns for its fourth season, fans are expecting Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to get some help in order to escape the Tunde Blade.

According to News Everyday, there is a possibility that it would be Caroline (Candice Accola) who will be releasing Klaus from the curse and that a "The Vampire Diaries" crossover could happen. Having Caroline save Klaus sounds logical to many fans because from the beginning of their relationship, it has always been Caroline whom Klaus has run to each time he needed help.

Meanwhile, with the five-year time jump that will be featured on the show upon its return, it is also possible that it would be Hope — Klaus's daughter — who will be powerful enough to break her father free from the curse.

An Inquisitr report, however, hints that it may be Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) — Klaus' former protégé and now rival — who will set his sire free. This may be because he will be faced with an enemy that he could not take down by himself.

According to a report by TV Guide, actor Michael Narducci has been tapped to become season 4's next big bad villain. However, in an interview with Narducci, he said that it will not be Marcel whom the new character has a beef with but rather, he will be after Klaus and he will be going after the Original vampire because of a centuries-old beef.

Marcel playing a part in freeing Klaus could also ring true given the statement of Executive Producer Julie Plec.

"The indignity of Klaus Mikaelson's situation the last five years [is being] held captive by his surrogate son and forced to be an advisor to a king that he does not recognize. Also, [he knows] Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact he's alive, because so many people have come to town in the last five years desperate to see him reduced to ash," she said.

While her statement hints at Klaus' unhappiness over his predicament, this does not mean that he will not help Marcel defeat the new villain if he threatens to destroy all of New Orleans.
