As The Originals returns to New Orleans for its fourth season, it is expected that the show will feature a five-year time jump.

While there is a lot of room to explore the events of the last five years in the lives of the Mikaelsons, the Original vampires, rumors hint that the Salvatorre brothers Stefan and Damon may drop in for a visit.

According to Game n' Guide, because the brothers are part of a new generation of vampires, it is expected that they will answer some long running questions that have been posed by show to reconcile the past and the present.

The Salvatorre brothers come from The Vampire Diaries, the CW show from which the Originals was sourced so the strong connection of the Salvatorres and the Mikaelsons could play a part in setting the plot for the fourth season.

Meanwhile, Joseph Morgan, who plays the lead character Klaus Mikaelson, the only hybrid original vampire provided some insight on Klaus's next journey after he was last placed in a pain induced coma by his protégé Marcel.

While some reports hint at a reconciliation between the sire and the protégé, there are also those that hint that the damage has been too great to the relationship of the pair for it to be salvaged.

Morgan said in an interview that it is unlikely that Klaus would end Marcel no matter what has transpired between the two of them but he admitted that he is unsure what will become of them since Marcel has become an all powerful monster after taking Lucien's werewolf venom potion.

"I certainly don't think they'll be drinking whiskey together. The Mikaelsons wrestled New Orleans from Marcel when they returned to the city [in the pilot], and now he's taken it back. This could be the beginning of a war! There will be a score to settle, for sure," he said.
