It is going to be a battle of wits between Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Ruth (Margo Martindale) in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "The Good Wife."

In "KSR," CarterMatt reports that in her quest to make Peter (Chris Noth) the most powerful man in the free world, Ruth is prepared to do anything, even if it means putting a stop to a budding romance. Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Jason have been playing sweet music together and Peter's campaign manager is already foreseeing a disaster in the making. After spending thousands of hours trying to come up with a good press release for their presidential candidate, Ruth will not let Peter's estranged wife ruin everything for them.

Ruth and her team wanted the public to see Peter as a family man — a devoted father and a loving husband. The fact that he and Alicia have been separated for a while meant nothing, as they conspire to hide the truth from the voters. Peter got sent to live once again in their house, while Alicia is forced to endure his swollen ego. She has no intention, however, to stop her relationship with Jason, as her personal life remains under her control. Unfortunately for her, Ruth does not think so.

She will reportedly ask the help of Courtney Paige (Vanessa William) to force the pair to separate. The millionaire businesswoman will be creating a bogus job for Jason in a different state, where he will not make trouble for Peter and his candidacy. While this seems like a perfect plan, Ruth should not be self-assured that Jason will take the bait. After all, he is a smart man and Ruth's plan is far from being subtle. Who will win in this tug-of-war?

"The Good Wife" season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
