Barry (Grant Gustin) and his entire team will travel to Earth 2 when the hit The CW series "The Flash" returns after its winter hiatus.
The International Business Times reports that in a new teaser for the upcoming episode titled "Potential Energy," Jay (Teddy Sears) is cautioning the squad to be very careful and to not be distracted by anything they see along the way. The speedster reportedly says that "Up is down, black is white" in that realm. What the website finds confusing, though, is that the description of Earth 2 does not fit what is in the comics. Earth 2 is thought to be "a parallel world" to Barry's home planet and not "a mirror image." If that is the case, Jay's words pertaining to the contradicting features of the place may mean they are not in Earth 2, but in an entirely different universe.
Meanwhile, the new promo shows that everything will be a mess when the series returns for season 2B. A creepy voiceover starts the clip, wherein someone is claiming that Barry is not the fastest man alive. Caitlyn (Danielle Panabaker) is also seen with her new persona, Killer Frost, in full make up. The villain is saying that "being bad is so much better" while sporting white hair and black lipstick. Also in the promo, Earth 2 Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) are sharing a private moment. The pair appears to be married.
Meanwhile, season 2B is also expected to showcase the continued chaos that Zoom (Tony Todd) has brought to Central City. The man with the black mask is still an unknown entity for the viewers, but his evil intention to steal The Flash's speed is not a secret. Now that he has blackmailed Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) to help him with his plans, it is expected that he will make Barry's life even crazier for the rest of the season.
"The Flash" will return on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
