The Second Global Event of the open-world co-op shooter "The Division" will run the game with modified gameplay settings that will last until Oct. 10.

Dubbed as "Assault," the modified rules will be applied to solo and co-op levels and even in open-world mode. In this setting, the damage dealt to a computer-controlled enemy will be dependent on the distance of the shot.

"Global Events introduce new and challenging modifiers designed to spice up your traditional gameplay experience. Global Events will occur once per month, over the course of one continuous week, and will feature a brand-new currency, Tokens," a statement from the game's website explained.

While playing Global Events, such as Assault, players can win Classified Gear no matter the World Tier. Furthermore, Tokens can be exchanged for Classified Caches.

As mentioned before, Assault modifies close-range combat to keep players thinking with their knees with the increased difficulty of the challenge. This, in turn, will give players more high-level rewards once the challenge is successfully completed.

Assault has three types of modifiers. The first one is simple called Assault where players can deal increased damage at close range. Of course, this means that players can still kill enemies at a distance, but long-ranged shots are significantly inefficient. This setting is a Global Modifier and will always be active throughout the game.

Crucial Assault is an Activity Modifier that increases the damage of enemies at long range. This will force players to keep taking the fight in order to get a game clear.

The third modifier is a Group Modifier called Major Assault where Crucial Assault is applied. Agents can deal an even more damage provided they stay as a group. If separated from the team, enemies will deal highly increased damage to a player.

Possible rewards for this second Global Event includes, Striker Classified Gear Set, Sentry's Call Classified Gear Set, Reclaimer Classified Gear Set, Clown Facemask, Hockey Facemask, and Pig Facemask.
