Amy (Mayim Bialik) will make Sheldon (Jim Parsons) rue the day he turned her down in the upcoming episode of the long-running CBS series "The Big Bang Theory."
In "The Earworm Reverberation," Design & Trend reports that Amy will go on a rebound and once again go out with Dave (Stephen Merchant), the man that her ex-boyfriend was so jealous with in the past. Amy's last date with Dave turned out to be a disaster, after he spent hours talking about his hero Dr. Cooper. Dave was ecstatic to learn that Amy is friends with the physicist and could not contain his excitement over the fact that he could meet him through her.
When Sheldon saw the two kissing outside Amy's apartment, he was devastated and decided to retaliate by dating other girls. Eventually, he realized that no one could measure up to his ex-girlfriend and stopped trying. When a golden opportunity presented itself during the Thanksgiving, Sheldon grabbed it with both hands. He asked Amy to come and have brunch together, albeit as friends. He and Amy had a wonderful time together, talking about the things they enjoyed doing before. When he got home that night, Amy called him, asking if they could get back together.
Amy wanted to be Sheldon's girlfriend once again, but for some unfathomable reasons, he turned her down and said they would better be off as friends. Amy was shocked to hear that and now, it appears she will try to get over her heartbreak by dating Dave. Will Sheldon take notice and realize his gaffe? The International Business Times reports that he will, as he finds himself outside Amy's door and telling her that she is the "earworm in his heart." Sheldon is reportedly listening to a Beach Boys song when he has the epiphany that Amy is the only girl for him.
Meanwhile, executive producer Steve Molaro has previously revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Sheldon and Amy would spend the night together in one of the upcoming episodes in season 9.
"After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship, and we're so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes," he said.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 will return on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
