Cole's (Joshua Jackson) depression over his wife's affair is slowly turning him into a dangerous man in the upcoming season of the drama series "The Affair."

In a promo clip released by Showtime, Jackson revealed what his character was going through after learning of Noah (Dominic West) and Alison's (Ruth Wilson) illicit relationship. He said that Cole's dangerous side will be revealed, as he loses himself more and more. In the video, he could be seen holding others hostage with a gun.

Jackson shared, "He's just sort of empty. It's like he disappeared inside of his own life. Alison's perspective on Cole would be pretty fearful at this point. That was a completely out of character moment for him to do something so violent, really, and aggressive."

Meanwhile, Noah's wife Helen (Maura Tierney) will be dealing with her own share of misery in season 2. Enstarz reports that out of all the characters affected by the affair, she will struggle the most. Tierney said that her character has to remain strong for the sake of her children.

"In Season 2, I think Helen's struggling to be a mom and a daughter, and she has to function at her job. So there's all of these ways that she's expected to still sort of perform and she's having a really hard time doing it," Tierney said.

Although Helen's inner battles are pulling her down, she will not give her husband a chance to pity her. She will reportedly be showing a lot of resentment towards Noah, which in turn will make him less sympathetic toward her condition.

"From Noah's point of view, I'm much colder, much more condescending and much more threatening. She's really belittling of his work and she's not really understanding what he needs," the actress said.

It has been previously reported that the upcoming season will be expanding to include Cole and Helen's point of view. While Noah and Alison will still be front and center, viewers will also be seeing more of the other two as the consequences of the affair starts to be known.

"The Affair" season 2 will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
