Tesla will officially unveil the Model X crossover vehicle before the month ends.

It has been confirmed, as reported by Trusted Reviews, that the car manufacturer will be showcasing the new electric CUV at a media event on Sept. 29. According to the report, the media invites have already been sent out, with the event listed as happening on Tesla's company HQ in Fremont, California at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.

This is good news for those who are waiting to get a hands-on observation of the Model X, since Tesla previously only teased a general release window for the vehicle, saying, "As we prepare to launch Model X in September, we are building more validation vehicles, executing final engineering and testing work, enabling our new manufacturing equipment and finalising arrangements with our suppliers."

Although Tesla had did not provide more details on the event, observers are expecting that the official reveal will highlight not just the technical specs of the electric crossover vehicle, but also how the Model X will be priced, and different options for ownership. The Verge reported that although Tesla has already provided some specs and details to pre-ordering clients via a private site, it was only for the decked-out limited-edition Signature version of the Model X.

The Model X is the third fully electric vehicle in the Tesla lineup, after the Roadster compact and Model S sedan. It is also the very first electric SUV model of Tesla. Green Car Reports wrote that contrary to previous reports of a 240-mile EPA, the Model X (at least the Signature version) now lists an EPA-estimated range of 250 miles on a 90-kWh battery.

The crossover variant was announced in 2012. It was originally scheduled to be released last year, and Tesla already started accepting pre-orders way back 2013. However, the release date for the hybrid was pushed back to 2015.
