Hopes are high that Stiles (Dylan O' Brien) will finally be rescued by his friends in the third episode of MTV's "Teen Wolf."

In the previous episodes of "Teen Wolf" season 6, Stiles was taken by the Ghost Riders and his friends have forgotten about his existence because of the powers of the show's new villains.

However, in the upcoming episode — entitled "Sundowning" — a mission to protect a friend may serve to jumpstart Scott's (Tyler Posey) memory about his best friend.

"While Scott, Lydia (Holland Roden), and Malia (Shelley Hennig) search for Stiles, Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) and the others throw a party to keep Mason (Khylin Rhambo) safe from the Ghost Riders," read the synopsis for the episode.

In the promo for the episode, Scott's visit to the Stiliskis hosue may have sparked his memory somewhat.

"I think that somebody was taken from us. I think he was my friend. Maybe he was my best friend," said Scott.

In an interview with Executive Producer Jeff Davis, he gave some insight into what the show is trying to achieve for the episode.

"We really wanted to show what Sheriff Stilinski's life would be like without Stiles. A long time ago, we thought, 'What if he loses Stiles, but gets something back in return? What if he gets his wife back? What does that mean? Where the f–k did she come from? How is this possible? That's a big part of the mystery, and we have a lot of fun with it," shared Davis.

He also teased that after five seasons, there may finally be hope that fans will finally learn Stiles' actual first name, a mystery that has stumped the show's most loyal viewers for years. Davis added that fans should not be quick to dismiss the message that Lydia received from the other side.

"It's a clue, it's a definite clue. That word was not chosen randomly," he teased.

New episodes for "Teen Wolf" season 6 airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
