With Apple already done with their September 2016 event, it seems that Microsoft is now trying to draw attention to their own devices. After all, the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be released within this year, with the Surface Book 2 getting released in 2017.

According to iTechPost, it seems that Microsoft has already put the refurbished Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 up for sale at lower prices, triggering a slew of rumors saying that the new Surface devices will be released soon. As of late, these devices are being sold at a 15 percent discounted price.

What this means is that a 128 GB refurbished Surface Book is now sold for $1,274, allowing buyers to save $225. On the other hand, the 512 GB version can now be bought for only $2,294, saving buyers $405.

With this, a lot of people are speculating about the specs of the new Surface Book. People want to know if this device will come with an Intel Kaby Lake processor, which will enable it to support 4k resolution as well as 3D display. The latest Surface Book will also purportedly come with USB 3.1 support, as well as some changes to the laptop's overall appearance.

According to Ecumenical News, Microsoft might allegedly try fixing the balance-related issues originating from the first Surface Book's design. These issues are due to the fact that the monitor and keyboard had an imbalance in terms of weight, and it resulted in unnecessary risks.

The Surface Book 2, should it have the Intel Kaby Lake processor, could be released around early next year as these processors will not be shipped until late 2016. Couple that with the fact that the device is expected to have Windows 10 Redstone 2 — Microsoft's second major set of new features for Windows 10 — a 2017 release date seems more likely for this new laptop.
