After season 11's huge finale cliffhanger starring Lucifer, Amara and Chuck, several fans are already speculating about what the new plot development for the Winchester brothers will be.

Yibada reports that the 12th season is already sure to be out, with rumors believing that the plot will now turn to the story of Mary Winchester, their resurrected mother. Apparently, in the previous season, her resurrection was Amara's reward to Dean for helping her come to the conclusion that vengeance is not what she wants, and instead she reconciles with her brother Chuck (or God).

According to Game n Guide, Misha Collins, the actor for the character Castiel, provides hints that one person who's been hired for season twelve is someone he cannot reveal to the fans. Parent Herald also reports that Misha talked about a scene involving Lucifer that was supposed to be included in the series finale. However, he cannot indicate whether Lucifer will be returning for season twelve.

Other possible storylines for the new season include the reappearance of the actual Men of Letters, with a member popping up in the finale of the previous season. Nobody even knows yet whether the mysterious member of the organization actually shot Sam in the final episode, and fans are expecting to find this out in the new season.

Unfortunately, Jeremy Carver won't be returning for season twelve, because he will be focusing his efforts on a new project from CW, titled "Frequency". Instead, Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer will be the primary showrunners of this new season, and they will be teaming up to become the new executive producers. The exact premiere date is still unknown, but speculations from fans believe that this new season will alrady be out in the fall.
